A hospitality experience shaped by rituals of restoration.
TALA is a quiet, tactile sanctuary shaped by rituals of being: slow, grounded, and artfully crafted. Curated rituals from micro to macro; designed to invite pause, slow down, and stoke awareness for a full mind-and-body reset.
Led the project’s spatial concept and creative direction in collaboration with Sheila Wan (led product design) and Jess Hylek (led graphic design).
SPATIAL STRATEGY
From darkness to light, Laguna’s beach caves become an experience where earthy depths envelop then open into ocean light.
FACADE
The journey begins with a sculptural corten steel façade. Drawing from fine art installations, its openings conceal and reveal glimpses of the ocean, inviting guests to slow down and see the familiar shoreline differently.
GUESTROOM
Rather than simply providing a place to sleep, the guest rooms become a sanctuary for ritual. Every detail, from the handcrafted room key to the tea ceremony and sound bath, encourages guests to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the rhythms of rest
SOUND BATH
The sound bath reimagines a standard bathtub as a multisensory wellness experience. Activated by the rising water, brass bowls drift together within a surrounding basin, producing chimes that transform bathing into an immersive ritual of relaxation and mindfulness.
ROOM KEY
Sculpted from the organic forms of rocks, the room key serves as a tactile ritual object that grounds guests from the moment they arrive.
RITUAL KIT PACKAGING
Crafted with quiet intention, the ritual kit packaging embraces simplicity and tactile beauty, transforming each unboxing into a mindful ritual of discovery.
SHARED SPACE: LAGUNA RITUAL
Returning from the beach becomes a ritual of renewal. The foot-washing station transforms an everyday act into a calming moment of cleansing, marking the transition from the energy of the shoreline to the quiet sanctuary of TALA.
KINETIC LIGHT INSTALLATION
A suspended kinetic light installation that shifts with real‑time tidal data, a quiet, living sculpture of the sea’s rhythm.
TIDE CAFE AND BAR
Tide is Tala’s café and bar, where morning coffee and evening drinks become daily ROUTINES connected to the sea. Above the bar, a kinetic light installation shifts with the tides, inviting guests to pause, return, and become familiar with the changing rhythm of the shoreline.
At Tala, Experience becomes ritual.
Ritual becomes reason to return.
